We would be blessed to have you as a sponsor and will never take for granted the commitment you are making to your Haiti child. Your support will assist your sponsored child as well as those without individual sponsors.
Please note that students may have more than one sponsor. Haiti Deaf Academy's sponsorship coordinator will provide student updates when possible. At the end of each year, you will receive a tax receipt for the year’s contribution.
Tilus is quite yet kind and thoughtful. He is shy in the classroom but comes alive at lunch time. He thrives outdoors and loves any game he can be a part of.
Christelle lives with her mother and father. She started at HDA just this past year and is very intelligent. Her parents are overjoyed to see her excelling. She loves to jump rope and adores all of her new friends. She is competitive and likes to play games with her friends.
Debora lives with her mother and grandmother. Debora’s mother attends school also as she is a teen. Debora’s young mother went to a lot of effort to make sure her deaf daughter went to school! Debora lives on campus and learns very fast. She is happy and bossy!
Loventz has recently joined us and is slowly starting to show is true colors. He is quiet and kind, but making friends fast. He lives with his mom and loves her visits. He is a quick learner and loves games.
Michaelle is the daughter of two of our long term staff members. She bright, happy, and helpful. She loves to dance and play, her mom is her best friend, and she is excelling in school with her friends.
Sondy has a sparkle in his eye that makes everyone fall in love. Despite his developmental delays, he continues to astound us all with his learning. He has an aid that assists him with every day task and she is his best friend. Sondy truly loves every person and is always up for a high five, fist bump, or a hug. He is flourishing amongst his peers. The happiest boy in the world!
Guerby is shy and kind. He has opened up tremendously to his new friends and is learning language fast. This is his first year at school, and when he is home with his mom she tells us he begs to get back to school! He enjoys playing domino's with other students and is always sitting back laughing at what is going on around him.
Gerdens is as sharp as a tack, extremely intelligent in the classroom. He and Samuel have become best friends and he loves to play. His favorite subject in school is math and he loves counting and showing off his skills.
Loudia is spunky! She lives with her Grandmother in Cabaret. Her mother lives in PAP and she visits with her. Loudia suffers from seizures and some behavior problems. She is well liked, but all the kids know not to make her mad!
Micheline is the youngest of six deaf siblings from a home in Saint Michel, Haiti. Both of her parents are deaf as well.
Micheline is incredibly curious and is doing very well in school. Micheline has lived at HDA since she was very young and we have high hopes for her education.
Kerbendjy is a special day student with sickle cell disease. He is quite and shy, but mighty lovable. We manage all of his medical care, and without constant medical supervision he would not make it. He gets special one on one tutoring right now and has shown tremendous progress in his language skills.
Mirandy loves his family. He is cousin to Fedeline and Fednelson. He is extremely kind, helping whenever he can. He loves to lead and is a wonderful example for the younger students. He excels in math and kreyol in school.
Samuel is fiesty and loves a little trouble. His favorite time of the day is playtime. After school he is the first one back to campus and eagerly awaiting the next activity. He lives with his mom and dad in the mountains and loves to go home on the weekends.
He has two older deaf brothers. He is beginning to lose his peripheral vision due to Usher Syndrome. His other family members also suffer from vision narrowing. Bendjy is kind and smart. He gets along well with the other children.
